Gillespie County Fairgrounds Horse Races

Gillespie County Fairgrounds is located in Fredricksburg about 40 miles northwest of San Antonio. Racing weekends usually include dancing and entertainment along with other attractions in the historic town where the race track is located.

2007 racing meets will be held July 7 and 8; July 21 and 22; August 11 and 12 and August 25 and 26. The races feature a full slate of quarter horse and thoroughbred races along with trials for the 2007 Gillespie County Fair Futurity.

In addition to live horse racing, the Race Barn, a pari-mutuel simulcast building is open for greyhound, thoroughbred, and quarter horse races from all over the country. Admission for live racing is $4 for adults (except during the 119th County Fair when they are $5), $1 for children 6 to 12 years of age and free for children under 6.
