Retama Park Horse Races

Located on 223 acres off Interstate 35 in Selma (near San Antonio), this track opened in 1995 and features quarter horse and thoroughbred races. Post time is 7 p.m. except on Sundays and holidays when post time is 2 p.m. The track is opened year-round for simulcasting (televised racing) from tracks around the country and the grandstand features both open air and enclosed and air conditioned levels with food courts, restaurants and bars.

The track offers free admission to active and retired military and reduced fees for senior citizens.

Post times for the 2007 Quarter Horse Meet are Friday, May 4 through Sunday, June 17, Fridays - Saturdays at 6:45 p.m. and Sundays at 5:30 p.m. Triple Crown Saturday races begin at 5:30 p.m.

Post time for the 2007 Thoroughbred Meet are Friday, September 7 - Saturday, November 17, Thursdays - Saturdays at 6:45 p.m. with Breeders’ Cup Day held on Saturday, October 27, at 5:00 p.m.

Simulcasting is available every day and evening of the year except Christmas with wagering available on as many as 20 tracks per day. Thoroughbred, Quarter Horse, Standard bred and greyhound racing is offered at the simulcast races.
