Valley Race Park Greyhound Track

The Valley Race Park in Harlingen has seasonal greyhound racing and year round simulcasting of thoroughbred and dog racing. It includes a 91,000 square foot building with terraced seating, a main floor for simulcasting and a clubhouse restaurant, bar and party rooms.

Overall, there is room for 6,000 race fans. Parking is free for about 2,500 cars and the parking lot is also used for concerts and trade shows.

General admission at the park is $2. Senior citizens over age 62 are charged $1 and children under 12 are free. .Admission to simulcast races when there is no live racing is free.

There are 18 kennels with space for 1080 greyhounds at the park which is owned by the Sam Houston Race Park near Houston. Both tracks are part of Houston based Maxxam Corporation.

The track is located in Harlingen Texas in the Rio Grande Valley on South Carey Drive, one mile off Expressway 77/83 and three miles from the Valley International Airport.
